The DDM Seminar Series offers the NIH community engaging presentations that provide meaningful insights into leadership and management concepts, challenges, and solutions. The seminars provide NIH employees the opportunity to advance their knowledge of best practices in a variety of leadership and management issues.

    Trustee Professor of Management and author of Know What You Don't Know, which examines strategic decision-making processes, senior management teams, and the dynamics of organizational failures.

    Deborah Tannen, Ph.D.
    Georgetown University professor and New York Times best-selling author of Talking from 9 to 5, which shows how gender-related communication styles affect who gets heard, who gets ahead, and what gets done at work.

    Daniel Pink
    Author of Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us, which uses behavioral science to overturn the conventional wisdom about human motivation and offers a more effective path to high performance.

The 2011-2012 speakers will address topics to include managing and valuing diversity, strategic decision-making, cultural differences in ways of communicating, and human motivation.  

Onsite participants who sign in at the DDM Seminar Series will receive 1.5 hours of supervisory refresher credits per event.
